FLASHMAP SYSTEMS RELEASES NEW APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT TECHNOLOGY ROADMAP

Depicts Lifecycle, Languages, Platforms, & Reusable Technology.... Catalogs Over 400 Vendor Solutions in Visual Framework

Newton, MA - (July 16, 2003) Flashmap Systems(R) announced today that it has published the Application Development Roadmap, a graphical wall poster that visually depicts the multitude of Information Technology (IT) products involved with the development of software applications. Designed for Information Technology (IT) architects and planners, this poster provides a single snapshot that facilitates clear communications during product evaluation and technology portfolio maintenance.

Application development (AD), once considered to be restricted to software companies, has undergone a revolution in the past five years. For some requirements, customers can buy high-quality, affordable, commercial-off-the-shelf packaged solutions. Other times, however, the only solution is for companies to build their own. Proactive managers clearly recognize AD as an area that rewards good management with enormous cost savings.

The AD Roadmap was developed by Flashmap Systems president and founder Jeff Tash, also the creator of the popular Client/Server Roadmap series published in Computerworld. "The AD Roadmap provides a focal point that really makes it clear that development follows a distinct lifecycle," Tash said. The AD Roadmap is the third in a series created by Flashmap systems. Both the IT Infrastructure Roadmap and the Business Intelligence Roadmap continue to be valuable tools for planners.
